| HCCFEG Mission Statement |
MISSION STATEMENT Hall County Citizens For Efficient Government (HCCFEG) is a group of taxpayers and citizens who came together as a result of the highly questionable practices of the Hall County Board of Tax Assessors over the last several years. If the Hall County Board of Tax Assessors had been monitored properly by Hall County government, or even an unbiased taxpayer advocacy organization, these practices would have never occurred. It is evident that there is a need for an aggressive organization to take on the responsibilities of looking inside the workings of Hall County government one department at a time. We are doing just that through attending board meetings, obtaining information in accordance with the open records law and various other activities. HCCFEG membership is made up of citizens and taxpayers from all areas of Hall County. Many citizens remain upset with the spending habits, lack of ethics and operating procedures of Hall County government. Our organization provides a vehicle for citizens to actually participate in and be a part of monitoring local government in the areas of fiscal practices, wasteful spending and questionable ethics.HCCFEG is planning, in the near future, to begin intensive reviews of county departments in addition to the Hall County Board of Tax Assessors investigation which is still in process. HCCFEG officials will obtain pertinent budget documents from the county agency or department selected to be reviewed. If we are unable to obtain needed documents by request, said documents will be obtained by utilizing the open records law. A qualified review committee will be selected from HCCFEG membership to conduct said review. Upon completion, the review committee will then report back to the membership with the review results and recommendations if any problems or deficiencies are discovered. Each member will then contact his/her Hall County Commissioner and request appropriate action. |
